Altered art spoon swap

I thought I would share all the neat spoons that have poured into my mailbox this month! They are all made by different people in the ATC Connection yahoo group. I must apologize to the artists- my photography today leaves alot to be desired.

This lil' doll is a Cellini spiral and a "luna bead" put together with some right angle weave "charms" to make a charming pendant. I had alot of fun playing with all of these different techniques. Thanks to Brad of the DBS, I can finally call this project complete. He encouraged me to not add a thing to it- everything I had tried to add didn't work.

Another praise for the DBS- I managed to secure two classes for the ultimate beader's classes. The very beader who interested me in beading,( unknowingly from her front page artwork on Bead and Button Magazine Dec. 2003.) Yup Uh huh- and they are going to be the same week as my birthday-- talk about a huge blessing. Oh-- the lady who is teaching is none other than Sherry Serafini. The DBS also made it into the Bead Dreams Competition with "A chorus of urchins" made with urchin beads from the DBS by Marcia DeCoster.

I am blessed to be amongst such a wonderful group of people. I hope you have found folks that enjoy to do the things you do that you can encourage and fellowship with.

I feel as if I am beginning again. However, I have so many things in place from when I really first began this creative journey. I am beginning again, but I am not starting from scratch. The trials of the past have given me perseverance I had not idea I possessed. It is a finalist!!!

The over the top Beaded Cogs Steampunk Style necklace I created for the Fashion Colorworks 2010 Beading Contest made it to the finals. You can go and rate the top ten from 1-5 here . Here are the fabulous photos my wonderful photographer (Thanks again BRAD!!!) took and while it was at his house his wonderful wife and president of the Dallas Bead Society got to prance around and wear it for the day. I told her she had to wear it for a whole day before she sent it home to me! He takes awesome photos!!! It wasn't the first time my beady friends have snagged it to wear for the day. I want to thank everyone for your kind comments on "Effy' whether here or by email. I also want to thank everyone who has been encouraging me to pursue the many facets of beading as an art and a business. Who would have thought one thing could be so fulfilling in so many different facets. The result of having such encouraging friends is the developement of my very first pattern and kit.
