Doll Journey: PPD

After a big project, there is usually a period of not knowing what to do with myself  while I am avoiding the necessary cleanup that awaits me and trying to escape  the inability to have a clever idea inspire me. I call it PPD- instead of Post Partum Depression it is - Post Project Depression.
But not this time!
 I have managed to knock out much of the needed cleanup. There is still a bit of untidy that I just can't seem to tackle. With the spring like weather- who really wants to do spring cleaning, or any kind of cleaning?
Even the clever ideas that inspire  me are  coming  so much faster after this project.
There are so many projects to do that there is no time to have the blues anyway.
I believe in staying busy and my family and friends are happy to help out.

Vests for a friend
Alterations for a family member (and her friend)
New Outfit to go with challenge piece
Create an advanced Cog Kit for Bead Fest students
Find supplies for Melanie Potter Class

Firefly  has made it to her destinations at the King of Glory Church and will be on display from the 23rd to the 25th at the Riverstone Church in Kennesaw, GA.

Time to go work on some curtains for a special friend- normally I don't do curtains....

Beginning again.

I feel as if I am beginning again. However, I have so many things in place from when I really first began this creative journey. I am beginning again, but I am not starting from scratch. The trials of the past have given me perseverance I had not idea I possessed. I am still recovering from a major life change but I am allowing my life to become better and trying very hard to not become bitter... I am finding that I am not having to try so hard at it lately. It is a finalist!!!

The over the top Beaded Cogs Steampunk Style necklace I created for the Fashion Colorworks 2010 Beading Contest made it to the finals. You can go and rate the top ten from 1-5 here . Here are the fabulous photos my wonderful photographer (Thanks again BRAD!!!) took and while it was at his house his wonderful wife and president of the Dallas Bead Society got to prance around and wear it for the day. I told her she had to wear it for a whole day before she sent it home to me! He takes awesome photos!!! It wasn't the first time my beady friends have snagged it to wear for the day. One of them still claims it is a birthday gift that I haven't given to them yet. Thanks for stopping by!

I want to thank everyone for your kind comments on "Effy' whether here or by email. I also want to thank everyone who has been encouraging me to pursue the many facets of beading as an art and a business. Who would have thought one thing could be so fulfilling in so many different facets. The result of having such encouraging friends is the developement of my very first pattern and kit.
